Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the academic stress factors and coping strategies adopted by graduating students of the Administration program at the Advanced Campus of the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (UERN), located in the city of Pau dos Ferros/RN. The research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, used a structured questionnaire via Google Forms, with the link shared through WhatsApp to 28 students in their final semester. The data revealed that the main academic stressors were related to activity overload, balancing work and studies, dissatisfaction with professors, and the content of the courses. Regarding coping strategies, those centered on emotion were predominant, followed by strategies based on social support, and lastly, those focused on problem-solving. The data analysis reinforces that students use multiple strategies simultaneously, according to their needs and available resources. The findings contribute to understanding the impact of academic stressors on university students' mental health and highlight the importance of institutional actions aimed at preventing psychological distress in the academic environment.
