Abstract

The objective of this article was to analyze the transformations in education brought about by the advancement of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and, more recently, the emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) and its impact on teaching and learning processes, as well as on personalized education. It discusses and analyzes the management of knowledge media and the integration of ICTs in education, also examining the use of GAI in academic writing and the effects of the pandemic and post-pandemic periods on education. It is undeniable that the pandemic accelerated this process, highlighting the importance of distance learning and the concept of networked education. The article recognizes the significance of social network analysis (SNA) tools and the rise of GAI. The final considerations suggest that ICTs offer opportunities to innovate in education, emphasizing that such innovations must aim for a democratic networked education, critically reflecting on ethical issues. The findings also highlight the need for investment in digital inclusion and the training of education professionals. The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in educational environments is transforming teaching and assessment methods. GAI tools have the potential to personalize learning and provide immediate feedback but also challenge traditional assessment systems and raise concerns about authorship and academic integrity.
