ECOEDIFICAR: Protótipo de plataforma digital para otimizar a gestão de resíduos e promover a sustentabilidade ambiental na construção civil

Abstract

This article presents the development of a digital platform prototype, EcoEdificar, designed to support the sustainable management of construction waste in Santa Catarina, Brazil. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, the platform aims to connect construction companies, industry professionals, and recycling businesses, thereby fostering a circular economy and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation. The research adopted a mixed-methods approach, combining questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with sector professionals. The results reveals a low adoption rate of sustainable practices, particulary among small companies, but also indicate interest in technologies that facilitate proper waste disposal and traceability. Qualitative analysis highlighted demands for planning, monitoring, and awareness, while quantitative analysis identified gaps in waste management and ESG implementation. Based on these findings, the EcoEdificar prototype was developed to address the primary challengesidentified, contributing to a more efficient and environmentally responsible construction sector.
