Abstract

This study investigated how work design dimensions are associated with the socio-emotional competencies of leaders in Brazilian organizations. Data collection was conducted online, and analysis was conducted in SPSS using Factor Analysis. After screening, the final sample consisted of 124 adults with leadership experience. The instruments used were the Work Design Questionnaire and the Socio-Emotional Competencies Scale. The adequacy of the Factor Analysis was confirmed, and 27 variables met the MSA criteria, with eight factors explaining 79.29% of the total variance. The following factors were verified: Professional Dexterity, Emotional Regulation, Emotional Creativity, Autonomy at Work, Socio-Cognitive-Operational, Social Awareness, Operational Diversity, and Socio-Professional Integration. The results support the integrated construct "Affective-Organizational Architecture," which connects work "engineering" with socio-emotional leadership capabilities. Practical implications include combining job redesign; autonomy, variety of skills; with training focused on affective regulation, empathy and emotional creativity.
