Abstract

The implementation of Pix, the Brazilian Central Bank's instant payment system, represented an evolution in the Brazilian Payment System, especially in the private sector. Since its launch in 2020, Pix has brought agility, convenience, and security to financial transactions. This study analyzes the adoption of Pix by private companies, identifying its main benefits and challenges. The research uses a qualitative approach, based on a review of the literature, analysis of financial reports, and means of payment between 2020 and 2023. The main benefits include cost reduction, improvements in cash flow, greater financial control, enhanced security, and increased competitiveness, in addition to offering a better customer experience. Pix has also expanded access to the financial system for small businesses and MEIs. However, challenges such as the need for technological upgrades and compliance with security standards still persist. Nevertheless, Pix tends to evolve with integrations such as open banking, expanding its functionalities. It is concluded that the instrument has modernized the payment system in Brazil, bringing more speed to financial transactions.
