Abstract

Objective: This study seeks to identify the attributes that influence the decision-making process and the effectiveness of the organisational model in a Smart Campus. The research aims to clarify the essential factors for the successful implementation of this environment and how they should be considered in the decision-making process. Method: The methodology combined a systematic literature review and content analysis to identify attributes, barriers and challenges that impact the development of Smart Campuses. The thesis defended is that the effectiveness of a Smart Campus depends on the detailed integration of specific attributes, overcoming barriers and challenges for a more efficient organisational model adapted to institutional needs. The theoretical approach is based on concepts of organisational management and technological innovation, highlighting the importance of stakeholder integration and contextual factors such as location and culture. Results: The research revealed 11 attributes, 8 barriers and 7 challenges affecting implementation, including the integration of information systems and the need for robust security and privacy policies. These results were integrated into a conceptual model, which provides a practical basis for institutions to adapt their strategies. Conclusion: It is concluded that the proposed model contributes to improving management effectiveness and the academic experience in Smart Campuses by offering practical guidelines adapted to the specific needs of each campus.
