Abstract

In the 21st century, social media has become an essential part of the daily lives of billions of people, driven by technological advancements and the demand for quick content consumption. Short video applications have emerged as influencers in travel planning, shaping tourists' perceptions and behaviors, including watching, creating, sharing, and commenting, which impact their experience, focus, and destination-related intentions. This study aims to identify the dimensions of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) applied to the use of these applications in travel planning. Based on 66 structured interviews with Brazilian users who have watched short videos about tourist destinations, a qualitative analysis was conducted using the VOSviewer software and content analysis techniques. The results highlight that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation, and habit significantly influence the use of these applications, while social influence, facilitating conditions, and price value show no significant relationship.
