Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in predicting adult obesity, highlighting the main techniques used, challenges faced, and results obtained. The methodology adopted was a systematic literature review using databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions, and PubMed. A total of 384 articles were selected after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, focusing on the application of machine learning and deep learning in health data analysis, particularly electronic health records (EHR). The results show that AI has high accuracy in identifying risk factors for obesity, enabling earlier and more personalized interventions. However, technical and ethical challenges, such as data quality and algorithmic bias, still need to be addressed. The main conclusions indicate that AI has the potential to transform preventive healthcare, but large-scale implementation requires solutions for regulatory issues, as well as the development of explainable AI to facilitate its acceptance by healthcare professionals.
