Abstract

This study aims to identify how Nudge influences investor decision-making in companies with ESG (Environmental, social and Governance). To this end, it is understood that financial and non-financial aspects must be considered in investment decisions when evaluating a company. However, it is believed that nudges can influence decision makers in the search for investments that are sustainable and have ESG practices. The methodology proposed in this research consists of the application of a questionnaire, which was evaluated and approved by the Research Ethics Committees – CEP, composed of two environments, considered as quasi-experimental. Based on these scenarios, analyzes of the investment choices of research participants were made. The results demonstrate that when applying the nudge, the tendency for the majority of respondents was to opt for investments in companies with ESG practices. Furthermore, the regression model demonstrates the existence of a significant influence on some variables, indicating a greater probability of choosing, in nudge environments, for more sustainable investments that have ESG practices, making it possible to admit that in investment decisions, the presence of nudge, can increase the chances of choosing more sustainable investments.
