Abstract

The aim of this research was to identify nursing leaders' understanding of the use of quality tools in care management. This is a study with both quantitative and qualitative approaches, characterized as an exploratory and descriptive investigation conducted in a large hospital located in the city of São Paulo. Data collection was carried out in the second half of 2023. It was concluded that nursing leaders understand quality tools as mechanisms for improving the patient care process and for identifying the weaknesses and strengths of each care unit. Furthermore, these tools assist in the process of continuous improvement, decision-making, and the development of other management methods based on the diagnosis provided by the tools used.
