Abstract

The Lattes Platform plays an important role, as it allows for the organized monitoring and evaluation of the scientific performance of programs. Advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) have facilitated the analysis of large volumes of scientometric data, resulting in the appreciation of researchers and the quantitative and qualitative analysis of academic data, allowing for the formulation of policies aligned with CAPES requirements. However, the lack of standardization on the web hinders effective electronic and automated data retrieval. This article aims to present and evaluate the automated tool LattesXtractor, developed to extract and analyze data from the Lattes Platform. This research adopts a descriptive and exploratory methodology, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses to offer a complete view of the object of study. The results obtained are presented through collaborative graphs, which facilitate the visualization and interpretation of the collected data. The methodological procedures involve: a literature review on the subject, the creation of a computational application using the Java® language, the transfer of data to the Gephi software (a tool specialized in network analysis), and the performance of a practical case study to validate the results. The LattesXtractor tool was developed to process and organize information contained in the XML files (structured data format) of the Lattes Platform. Its main objective is to systematically reorganize this data, making it suitable for different types of academic and scientific analyses.
