Abstract

This paper presents MedChain, a system proposed for managing medical professional trajectories. It
leverages blockchain, decentralized identities (DIDs), and distributed storage to provide a secure,
auditable, and immutable environment. The article presents simulated tests based on data from two
Brazilian universities, and the results show the potential of MedChain when compared to traditional
methods, offering greater agility, enhanced security, and improved fraud prevention. The platform
stands out for its easy adaptation and integration with current systems, allowing scalability to the
context of universities across the country. One limitation is that it has not yet been tested in real
environments, and there are challenges related to institutional adaptation.
