Abstract

The concept of intellectual capital (IC) and competences become relevant in the current society, where knowledge is an intangible valuable asset for the individual and organizations. Both are directly associated with knowledge management, which assures the use of the organization’s knowledge base, together with individual competences. This article, through a bibliometric study, has the goal of identifying scientific productions in the intersection of these two fields, the relevance of relationships in organizations, and finally analyzing the explored themes. Results point to a limited number of documents which approach the intersection of intellectual capital and competences, the productions are concentrated in Brazil and the United Kingdom, and the various themes highlight the relevance of IC for competitive advantage, in universities, in knowledge, in federal institutes and capacity for innovation. It was possible to identify study subjects focused on different fields under the perspective of IC and competences. Those were classified in 5 different subjects: competitive advantage, universities, knowledge, green capital and innovation.
