Abstract

Open Science is a relatively new concept, but it is gradually gaining importance in scientific and academic circles. One of the ways to disseminate the results of research and academic and scientific work is through magazines and/or periodicals. Thus, this work aimed to verify the perception of editors of magazines and/or periodicals, from Brazilian federal universities (with headquarters/rectorate in the state of Rio Grande do Sul), about the advantages, possible benefits, difficulties and/or barriers for the adoption of the concept of open science in its publications. It was developed based on interviews with those responsible for the publications. As results, we can highlight the main advantages and/or benefits: eliminating duplication of data and improving research results. The main barriers and/or difficulties: legal issues; guarantee of access and support for access to data.
