Abstract

The present study examined the high turnover rate of newly graduated clerks from Paraná's Civil Police (PCPR) in 2021, with 12.29% departing in the first year. This raised the question: "What are the influencing factors for the high turnover rate among clerks who joined the PCPR in 2021?". Using a qualitative and exploratory methodology, and through semi-structured interviews analyzed using Bardin's method, the underlying causes of this phenomenon were investigated. The findings not only shed light on the determinants of this turnover, highlighting elements such as salary factors and lack of career prospects, but also propose guidelines to enhance talent retention and optimize public investment in the training of these professionals.
